If he can’t take our guns away, he’ll just turn us into criminals. That appears to be the attitude behind President Joe Biden’s new gun control executive actions.
The president announced six new executive actions regarding gun control last week. He called gun violence a “public health epidemic” during his White House Rose Garden speech.
Biden stated, “There are phony arguments suggesting that these are Second Amendment rights at stake, for what we’re talking about. But no amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.”
Let’s take a look at just how many ways this statement is absolutely false. First, the Second Amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
This means any executive action that limits the ability of an American citizen to keep and bear arms is anti-Second Amendment. Our rights clearly are at stake when certain firearms are prohibited or regulated in new ways.
In addition, Biden stated “no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.” Really? Do you want to go down that path on the First Amendment regarding religious freedom? What about a woman’s right to vote? The abolition of slavery? Are we going to start breaking whatever constitutional laws we want through executive action through such nonsensical logic?
I don’t think so. Biden’s actions are targeted directly toward law-abiding American gun owners.
But now the law-abiding part may no longer apply. Since the Biden administration has failed to put together a single piece of legislation enough conservatives can agree with to pass gun control restrictions, the next option is to outlaw certain gun rights through executive order.
For example, Biden has directed the Department of Justice to “issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.”
This one phrase could result in turning a firearm accessory into an illegal weapon owned by several million Americans. You will now be the bad guy (or girl) for merely owning a handgun brace.
Another concern includes new government fees. It’s as if the Biden administration wants to background-check American gun buyers into poverty. Gun owners may need a stimulus payment just to offset the costs of the fees for attempting to purchase a new firearm.
Of course, these stabilizing braces have nothing to do with the shootings taking place in our society. The most common motives tend to be related to mental health, gang-related violence, substance abuse issues and terrorist-inspired shootings. Crackdowns on certain guns or gun accessories will have zero impact on these areas.
If our president wants to make America safer, Biden could do something to protect the people pouring through our southern border. Maybe he could stop talking about rejoining the disastrous Iranian agreement. He could also help by actually showing up for a speech to tell Americans how he plans to help the nation increase quality paying jobs to lift up the hopes of the people.
But that’s not likely. Biden will instead continue to play hide-and-seek as the invisible president and read whatever scripts he is given. Time to stand for our Second Amendment rights and vote for those who will respect our Constitution and govern by our nation’s laws.

Mr. Biden said that no Amendment to the Constitution is absolute. He is correct about that, because the Constitution itself states how it and its Amendments can be changed. It would require a 2/3rds majority of both Houses of Congress to make those changes, but it could happen. What we need to do, and probably will not happen, is to get enough people to realize that both the Democrat and Republican Parties are effectively do-nothing parties when it comes to the 90% poorer people in this once-great nation. For the last 50 years, since the 26th Amendment was ratified and I could legally vote, I have watched a growing debt, a deficit economy just about every year, the spending power of the wealthy grow over five-fold, while the working class wages dropped or stagnated most of that time. Both of the major Parties only focus on the wealthy and corporations, rather than the majority of Americans. If the Americans that are not wealthy used the power of the vote, we could actually get candidates in office that could do them some good. Some will say that there are no good candidates, but if people start voting in third party officials, rather than voting strictly along Party lines, there would be. Decent people often do not run for office, because they know that neither Party will support them.

I Propose a new Constitutional Amendment: Upon election to an upper political position, the electee shall declare his /her net worth. During the course of holding office the office holder is restricted to a growth of net worth not to exceed starting net worth plus legislated salary, plus average percentage of constituents net worth increases.
Exceeding this formula will be cause for termination of office eligibility in the next election.
This amendment will eliminate the Clinton’s, the Obama’s, and a few hundred office holders who primary goal in office is to get rich through corruption. Violation of this amendment First Offense: will result in excessive net worth gains to be returned to appropriate government coffers. Further offenses, First offense plus prison for theft.
This will also provide a natural term limits. I.E. If you can not get rich, why keep running?
