New York Dem Senator Busted for Not Wearing Mask Indoors

A New York restaurant owner shared video footage of New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on Friday ignoring mask wearing rules in his establishment.

“The problem with NY politics in a nut shell,” the Instagram post read. “My Senator blowing past my manager before she can even ask her to put a mask on. Walking right past a really big sign that says ‘masks required to enter.'”

“The masks are a mandate from the Governor. As good citizens, agree or not, we must follow our leaders. Her guest is graciously wearing one,” the post added.

“I guess Senator Gillibrand thinks that the Governor is wrong or she is special and above the rules.”

Wearing a face covering indoors is required statewide per executive order by Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.

How did Gillibrand respond? No apology, according to her statement to Fox News. “We all need to do our part to help stop the spread of Omicron and that means following state and local guidance,” Gillibrand said. “That includes me and I will do better going forward.”

Many Americans are past the wearing of masks, but the latest incident highlights the contrast between what many Democrats demand of others but fail to do themselves. It’s more “rules for thee, not for me” in an elitist mentality that is driving people away from Democrats over political “science” rather than the science of stopping the spread of germs.

It’s not like New York’s government overreach is helping that much, either. The state continues to rank as among the highest in the nation for infection rate despite mask rules and vaccine mandates and more.

Instead, an increasing number of Democrats are being found breaking the rules or traveling to other less restrictive states for a taste of freedom. AOC’s Miami trip ranks among the most humorous. Her only response to being caught was to claim Republicans were angry because they wanted to date her.

But Gillibrand and AOC are not the only Democrats living in contrast with the impossible limitations placed on working Americans. From Swalwell’s trip to Florida from California to Pelosi buying a retirement home in Florida, the number of incidents is becoming quite remarkable.

Why is it that Democrats support strong restrictions in their own states only to break them or flee to less restrictive locations? It may appear they don’t really believe their own words, but are rather following a party-line policy rather than guidelines that are really helping Americans.

The nation has faced some serious issues, both with the pandemic under Trump and during Biden’s first year. Much of this is not due to anything partisan, but partisan politics have made matters worse through the division and confusion under Biden and the left.

Americans need real leaders willing to live what they believe rather than going along with their party and doing whatever they want when the cameras are gone. Gillibrand’s incident only highlights what many already know – politicians show what they really believe by what they do when they don’t think others are watching.
