Only 30 percent of Americans, including less than half of Democrats, want President Joe Biden to run for reelection in 2024, according to a new poll.
The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research revealed the new poll results as Biden reached his first year mark in the Oval Office this week.
“More Americans disapprove than approve of how Biden is handling his job as president, 56% to 43%. As of now, just 28% of Americans say they want Biden to run for reelection in 2024, including only 48% of Democrats,” the Associated Press reported.
“It’s a stark reversal from early in Biden’s presidency. In July, 59% of Americans said they approved of Biden’s job performance in an AP-NORC poll. His approval rating dipped to 50% by late September in the aftermath of the chaotic and bloody U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan and amid surging coronavirus infections and the administration’s fitful efforts to push economic, infrastructure and tax policies through Congress,” the report added.
Only 28 percent of those polled supported Biden running in 2024. The news isn’t good for an administration already marked by multiple crises and gaffes in less than a year. Biden would also be the oldest American president to ever be in office if reelected, a growing concern as he continues to exhibit “cognitive decline” in public comments.
The alternatives are also frightening. Vice President Kamala Harris has become known for her own gaffes that are nearly as numerous and humorous as Biden’s. Her popularity has also tanked, with the lowest approval rating of any vice president in recent history.
Throughout the 20th century sitting presidents who faced challenges from within their own party have gone on to lose in the general election. Which is why Democrats are not thrilled with the prospect of either Harris or Clinton running instead of Biden in 2024.

In some ways, Biden’s term has already been Barack Obama’s third term, except he’s unable to put together decent speeches like his predecessor to keep the media on his side.
The fight for 2024 is going to be a big one, and all we know for now is that where things currently stand, Biden may not make it through another run for the White House.
Considering what Americans have had to endure with this PATHETIC administration, it’s hard to believe that anyone alive would want this poor excuse for a man, let alone President, to finish out his term, or make a run for office.
