Donna Brazile: A Story of Corruption & Fear under the Clinton Campaign

If you have ears and a paid electricity bill, then you would have to be aware of the startling turn of events surrounding former leftist pundit, ABC news contributor, and Clinton campaign manager, Donna Brazile. The former Hillary acolyte who once staunchly defended and supported her candidate in the 2016 election, has now come forward with damning claims against the DNC, and the Clinton presidential campaign. Brazile’s book entitled, Hacks: The Break-ins and Break Downs that Put Donald Trump in the White House, reveals massive corruption in the DNC, the Clinton camp, and in the Democratic Party.

As anyone who has been paying attention to national politics for the past thirty years or more realizes – this never happens in the Democratic Party. The Democrats never break ranks like this. It is absolutely unprecedented. Even when Bill Clinton was exposed as a massive philanderer and womanizer of epic proportions, his wife- possibly the most cheated on woman in history- Hillary went to work not only defending him, but going to war against the women he raped, abused, and harassed. If that isn’t towing the party line, we don’t know what is.

What’s even more surprising is, after Brazile made her claims on television and published her tell-all book about the misdoings of the DNC, she said that after Seth Rich was killed outside of his home in Washington DC, she was afraid for her life. Brazile was pulled aside at a party at the White House during the final months of the 2016 campaign by Susan Rice and Eric Holder who warned her to take the Russian collusion story seriously. She did take it seriously, she said. But, after the Seth Rich murder, she was certain that he was killed by the DNC.

After that, she describes having been so deeply in fear for her life that she kept the shades drawn in her house to prevent snipers from placing their sights on her. “You take measures to get rid of them,” she commented, suggesting people within the DNC who had admonished her to support the Russian narrative, “but knowing they are there or have been there, means you never feel truly at peace.”

During the news cycle following her announcements, the mainstream media has been scrambling to denounce her and minimize the seriousness of her claims. They say her claims are inconsistent, that she is incoherent. They question her sanity- and there have even been a few statements about her collaborating with Russians. It’s all the same predictable stuff they usually do; admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter accusations.

Here’s a rundown of Brazile’s most significant accusations against the DNC and Clinton:

The DNC was deeply in debt

Brazile had no inkling of the financial woes of the party when she took the role of interim chair in July of 2016. She learned after the convention that the party had accrued $25 million in debt during the Obama presidency. This was being paid off by the Clinton campaign. Brazile also found out that the party had to secure an emergency fund of $2 million for reasons that were kept secret.

Brazile did not trust their polling

Brazile called Bernie Sanders in September of 2016 to alert him to the fact that she does not trust the polls, and that she believed he was being wedged out of the race by a string of inaccurately reported opinion polls.

The party configuration was abnormal- Hillary was in charge

Brazile has over 20 years of experience as a political strategist. She knows what a party should look like internally, and the Democrats did not meet the profile. According to her, the relationship between the party and the Clintons was very irregular and unbalanced- with far more influence in the hands of the Clintons than there should have been.

Hillary was able to bring her people into the DNC months before she should have been able to. She writes: “The victory fund agreement had been signed in August of 2015, just four months after Hillary announced her candidacy and nearly a year before she officially had the nomination.”

Hillary Clinton controlled the party

The deal between the DNC and the Clinton campaign stated that Clinton would have full control over the DNC’s victory funds. This account is ordinarily off-limits to candidates until a clear front-runner is declared. That means Clinton was using DNC money to defeat Sanders.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz drove the Democratic Party into debt

After Sanders was more or less out of the way, Wasserman Schultz used the DNC’s victory account as a slush fund for Clinton’s campaign resulting in massive debt for the party. Brazile writes: “Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.”

But since Hillary Clinton’s continuing campaign to blame everyone except herself for losing the election- including her own supporters- Democrats have been increasingly queasy about having her as the face of their party. Democrats have been anxious to lose the mortifying effect Clinton has on the party’s public image.

It would be fair to say that Donna Brazile is simply riding the crest of the wave to ditch Clinton. The Clintons are less powerful than they have ever been since the election of George W. Bush- certainly since Hillary’s appointment to Secretary of State under Obama. It would seem that now is the time to jettison the Clinton dynasty. Brazile is just the first among them to do it in earnest.

But she’s doing it in a way that is revealing the Democrats as being every bit as corrupt as conservatives have been saying they are for years now. The big question is, now that all this dirt is out in the open, how will the Democrats silence her?
