Country musical artist Travis Tritt gave a massive smackdown to snowflake liberals on Twitter following his performance of the National Anthem at Game 6 of the Braves Major League Baseball playoff game Saturday.
“So the wing nut cancel culture tried to pressure the Atlanta Braves into forcing me not to sing the National Anthem at Game 6 of the NLCS. I’m so thankful that the @braves did not cave to this pressure and refused to be bullied. Thanks for allowing me to pay tribute to America,” Tritt tweeted.
Tritt has already become a “bad boy” among cancel culture police. He announced earlier this month he was canceling performances in any venue that required proof of COVID-19 vaccination, proof of a negative COVID-19 test or wearing masks.
Maybe he was the fit the Braves needed. Georgia was cancelled over hosting the 2021 All-Star Game after Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed a newly passed election reform bill into law. Critics called it “Jim Crow 2.0,” blasting the move as a racist measure.
The game was oddly moved from Atlanta, a city with one of the highest black populations in the nation, to Denver, a stadium named after a leading American funder of conservative causes, at Coors Park. Denver is also statistically a far less diverse city than Atlanta.
Despite the league’s woke approach to Georgia regarding the All-Star Game, they couldn’t cancel Atlanta from making it to the World Series. Kemp noted on Twitter after the Braves won its playoff series, “While Stacey Abrams and the MLB stole the All-Star Game from hardworking Georgians, the Braves earned their trip to the World Series this season and are bringing it home to Georgia.”
Oddly, liberal media even tried to make Tritt’s performance about being anti-vax instead of about freedom. “The Braves chose Tritt because he is a big fan of the team. Most teams bring out their most high-profile fans this time of year. But the choice is somewhat puzzling because it seems to court unnecessary controversy, given Tritt’s stance against vaccination mandates,” The Washington Post reported Saturday.
USA Today even wrote “for the Braves to choose Tritt as the performer for this particular game, after this particular week, can only be interpreted as a middle finger to the segment of its fan base that stands on the side of science and an endorsement of the kind of misinformation that keeps the COVID-19 pandemic going strong.”
Seriously? The guy was singing the National Anthem, not attacking Lord Fauci. The so-called inclusive leftist narrative has pointed out once again they are not really inclusive after all. They are more likely to show hate to anyone opposing its agenda rather than allow freedom of expression.
Sounds downright un-American, doesn’t it?
Maybe the Braves will become America’s team when it’s all said and done. It may be no accident the team moved its new stadium out of Fulton County, home of the infamous Suitcasegate scandal. The state refused to bow to the league, it has refused to cancel Travis Tritt and now it has a chance to win it all and show that doing what’s right can still lead to a championship.
